Tucked deep within the Ozark Mountains, the area Big Cedar Lodge calls home is one of great natural beauty. In other words, if you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city, then this is the place for you. With origins around the middle of the 20th century, today the resort is poised to open a new 18,000-square feet spa in 2014. With its rich Native American history, roaming wildlife, and harmony with the land, Big Cedar Lodge sounds like the kind of vacation destination you visit once, and immediately fall in love with. (And never want to leave).

“It’s very unusual because it’s rustic,” says Barb Reffit, Big Cedar Lodge’s Spa Director. “It’s a return to the woods and nature, and natural beauty. You get away from the city lights. You get away from the noise of the city. It’s just an amazing property.”

At Intrinsics, we’re proud to provide some of the spa’s signature products. Having discovered our products through their vendor, BML Basic, Barb noted that the spa preferred Intrinsics’ products due to their superior quality and price point. So the first thing we can say is: thanks, Barb. That’s a really nice thing to say.

Barb also noted that Big Cedar Lodge’s clients specifically appreciate (and the spa’s therapists use) our 2” Cotton Rounds and our Large Cotton Balls. She also said that their therapists and nail techs will only use Intrinsics Cotton-Filled Gauze. Barb’s own little fave falls in that list of three, too.

“I personally like the 2” Cotton Rounds for taking off makeup or nail polish, and for a soothing eye soak of cold cucumber and lavender water,” she said.

If you hadn’t figured it out—and it should be pretty obvious—we love us some Barb right about now.

In the end, Barb also pointed out a little-known fact about Intrinsics.

“The other thing I thought I should mention as I was getting out some of the Intrinsics 2” Cotton Rounds today was that they’re made in the USA,” she said. “And that’s really big for us, too.”

Well, there you have it. We couldn’t have ended this spotlight on a better note. Again, we couldn’t be more pleased that we have Big Cedar Lodge’s trust, and that Barb was willing to take the time to talk to us. Meanwhile, the next time you’re in Missouri, and find yourself out Branson way, do yourself a favor: check in to Big Cedar Lodge. You know, so you can check out with some much-needed R’n’R.
